Garden City-Mr. Clifford "Cliff" Kessler, who celebrated his 95th birthday on February 26th, passed away on Tuesday morning at Hospice Savannah.
The Effingham County native was a member of the Church of Christ and had lived in Garden City where he enjoyed his garden of vegetables and many kinds of flowers. He enjoyed sharing his garden with family, friends and neighbors. He retired from REA Express in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Allie Belle Kessler, parents, Harry & Bertha Kessler, sister, Lois Hodges, three brothers, Arnold, Leon & Ernest Kessler.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Faye & Calvin Hodges of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Calvin & Cynthia Kessler of New Port Richey, FL; grandsons, Barry (Heather) Hodges of Athens, AL, Mark (Toni) Kessler and Jeff Kessler of Savannah, Shelly Shelfer of Woodstock, Leo Halley of Las Vegas, NV and Nick Halley of New Port Richey, FL; five great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Kessler of Pooler and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside Funeral and Burial: 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery located at 1600 Wheaton in Savannah.
