Obituary

Port Wentworth-Mr. Clifford H. "Pete" Usher, Sr., 82, died on Tuesday, March 11, 2008
at Candler/St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mr. Usher was born in Manassas and had lived in Port Wentworth for many years. He
was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church and served his country in
the U.S. Army and Merchant Marines. He retired from Stone Container after 35 years of
service and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Mock Usher of Port Wentworth; two sons and
daughters-in-law, Butch & Linda Usher of Springfield and Bobby & Colleen Usher of
Rincon; grandson and spouse, Eliot & Ashley Usher of Dunwoody, GA; grandson,
Nicholas Usher, currently stationed in Fort Knox, KY; brother, James B. Usher of Port
Wentworth; sister, Lois Usher Williamson of Charleston, SC and a number of nieces and
nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Friday at the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. Rev.
Gordon Dukes will officiate. Pallbearers will be Eliot Usher, Phil Collins, Floyd Zettler,
Robert Anderson, Chip Whilhoit and James Kimbrell Burial will follow at Hillcrest
Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road with military honors.
