Pooler-Mr. Clifton L. "Cat" Davis, 83, went to be with the Lord on April 23, 2008.
Clifton was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Boilermakers Union 26 and he retired from Union Camp. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. Cat was a member of the Laurel View Hunting Club and he was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances "Bea" Davis, his parents, Amy and John Tyner, his brother Red Davis and step-brother, John Tyner, and his great-granddaughter Kaitlin Garrett.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtice Davis of Pooler; children, Shirley & Buddy Sapp of Guyton, Bobbie & Mike Garrett of Ellabell, Angela & Ashton Newman of Ellabell, Tommy & Debbie Davis of Pooler and Susan Hires of Ellabell; step-children, Ann & Phil Giles of Augusta and Debbie Jones of Pooler; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond & Earlene Davis of Shellman's Bluff; step-sister, Irene Avila; step-sister-in-law, Jenny Tyner of Augusta and other relatives and friends.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
