POOLER: Mr. Clinton B. (Chuck) Hendley, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2012 surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born December 22, 1928. Chuck was an Engineer for the Norfolk Southern Railroad where he retired after 34 years of service. He was also a member of the Alee Temple Shrine, a 32nd degree Mason, and a 50 year member of Solomon's Lodge #1. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ethel Hendley and brothers, T.W. and Johnny Hendley.
He is survived by his wife , Pearl Hendley; children, and grandchildren; Ted Hendley, Chris and Tammy Hendley (Summer and Taylor), all of Pooler. Also surviving are his sisters, Louida Hepfer (Herb), Juanita Parker, Sue Price and brother, Obie Hendley (Martha).
The funeral to honor Mr. Hendley's life was on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with
Rev. Earl Best and Rev. Johnny Bowen officiating and Mrs. Wanda Smith offering a Eulogy. Music was provided by Kevin Smith, Morgan Lucas and Kylie Wynn. Active Pallbearers were Larry Davis, Joe Hendley, Jeff Hendley, Dan Price, Wayne Eason and Ronny Brant. Honorary Pallbearers were Billy Jones, Lemuel Wells and Jack Mayes. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road with Military Honors.
