Obituary

Command Sgt. Major Jimmy R. Chandler, 80, of Pooler, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Social Circle, GA to the late Harry & Grace Epperson Chandler.  He was also preceded in death by a son, James Lynn, a grandson, Andrew Phillip Pritchett, and his brother, Maurice Chandler.  He retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of highly decorated service to his country.  He was a paratrooper, and a Green Beret.  After his Army career, he retired from AARP.  He was a Deacon and member of the First Baptist Church of Pooler, loved John Wayne, and was a man of many talents.  Most of all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Chandler; children, Robin Lavender (Bill), Sherri Carrigan, Shannon Pritchett (David), Charity Lynn (Chad Dawson), and Shawn Lynn (Elisa); step-son, James Cary Jackson; grandchildren, Randall Ramon Fuentes, Ashton Hagood (Benjamin), Jasmine Giraldo, Thomas P. Ryan, Kristopher Lee, Ella Lynn, Zachary Pritchett, Piper Grace Lynn, Edward Lynn, and Collin Lynn; great-grandchildren, Lucia Rose Giraldo, Journey Giraldo, and Caroline Chandler "CC" Hagood, and his sister, Jane Ash.

The graveside funeral and burial will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Westside Memorial Gardens on Adams Road in Bloomingdale.  The procession will leave the funeral home at 12:40 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home for delivery to the cemetery.
