Obituary

Curtis Dean Obermoller, age 80, passed away on February 5, 2016. He was born, May 9, 1935 in Brewster, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Obermoller, and his wife, Dorothy Obermoller. Surviving is his daughter, Kristen Dijkstra (Paul); his three grandchildren, Rachel Dijkstra, Elisabeth Dijkstra, and John Dijkstra; his son, Jeffrey Obermoller, of San Diego, CA; his sister, Joyce Baago of Minneapolis, MN.

Curtis loved woodworking, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He served in the United States Army from 1955-1957 and was stationed in France and Italy. When he returned from France he started working for Schaeffer Refrigeration. During this time he also attended and graduated from Brown Institute, Minneapolis, top in his class in electronics. After Schaeffer Refrigeration, Curtis went to work, as a program manager, for Control Data Corporation. He was with CDC for 31 years before taking an early retirement. Curtis then went to work for Main Line Travel as a terminal Installation/P.C. equipment and repair technician. He left MLT Vacations after 7 years to be a full-time caregiver to his wife Dorothy in 1998.

Curtis was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2012 at the VA in Minneapolis, MN. He then went to live in Bloomingdale, GA with his daughter. During his time in Georgia, Curtis enjoyed going to the Pooler Senior Center where he was welcomed with open arms and met many of his friends. He had six wonderful, compassionate caregivers to help with his care. We would like to say a big Thank-you to Juanita Golden, Peggy Bote, Regina & Danny Ruiz, Noel Medina, and Anthony Hester. We would also like to say Thank-you to Affinis Hospice and Hospice Savannah for their compassionate care.

Funeral Services were on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will follow on March 7, 2016 at Epiphany Cemetery in Coon Rapids, Minnesota.
