Pooler-Dan Schafer, 54, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at his home.
Dan was born in Columbus, Indiana and still was passionate about his home state college teams, the Purdue Boilermakers, and the Indiana Hoosiers. He loved the beach, gardening, and cruises with his wife. He was employed with Gulfstream, and was preceded in death by his father, Jack Schafer.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Schafer; step-daughter, Fran Danser; step-grandson, C.J. Danser; mother, Connie Schafer; brothers, Thomas (Sandy) Schafer, and Chuck Schafer; sister, Nancy Moore; sister-in-law, Barbara (Ken) Whitaker; his dogs, Kodie, and Chance; his cat, Lucky, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler.
