Daniel E. "Danny" Davis

Guyton – Daniel E. "Danny" Davis, 70, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at St. Joseph' Hospital.

He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, the N.R.A., and enjoyed Nascar.
The Chatham County native graduated from Commercial High School in 1958 and served in the 165th Air Guard. He retired from Savannah Sugar Refinery and was a member of the Over The Hill Sugar Gang.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Reggie Davis and Marjorie Lee Durden Davis; and brother, Charles Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Irma Kessler Davis; children, Troy Davis and Dana Davis; grandchildren, Danielle Joyner, Wesley Joyner all of Guyton, Brian Davis and Blake Davis both of Florida; brother, Wank (Dale) Davis of St. Simons; niece, Kellie (Ed) Lauer of Brunswick; and uncle, Eathan "Deke" (Lois) Davis of Bloomingdale.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Mr. Davis will lie in state from 10 a.m.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers remembrances may be given to Bethesda United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3608 Midland Road, Guyton, GA 31312.
