Savannah-Mr. Daniel Neill Lynes, 86, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Mr. Lynes was born in Jesup to the late James and Louise Lynes. He formerly attended Wildwood United Methodist Church and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired from CSX Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Lynes; children, Shirley Foiles, Eddie Brantley, Marshal Brantley, Dan Lynes, Jr., Bessie Mae Watson and William Brantley; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; sister, LeMonnie Windham and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Lynes life was at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jimmy Carlise officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery with military honors.
