Springfield – Darrell Jack Carter, 62 passed away January 24, 2023 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Darrell was a self-employed contractor who loved golf, watching Jeopardy and sports, hunting, and spending time with his family.  His biggest enjoyment was having dinner out with his daughter, Gabrielle.

He was preceded in death by his; sister, Theresa Carter; brother-in-law, Jamie Porter; and nephew, Noah Murdaugh.

Survivors include his daughter, Gabrielle Carter; parents, Jack and Myrtice Carter; sisters, Karen Carter Porter, Lora Carter Murdaugh (Shannon); brother, Joel Carter; nieces and nephews, Wesley Porter (Rosie), Leia Wampler (Ethan), Harley Ballard (Dalton), Hunter Bennett (Shaw), Rachel Mobley (Jacob), Carter Murdaugh, Waylon Murdaugh, Walker Carter, and Joelie Carter; great-nieces and nephews, Braxton Porter, Ira Wampler, Benedict Bennett, and Potter Ballard.

Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery Annex.
