Clyo, GA – Darrell Frederick "Hillbilly" Hambright, 67, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Mooresville, NC on March 5, 1950 he was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from the Charlotte Board of Education. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, hunting, and just being outdoors. He was a God fearing man whom loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis E. Hambright, Sr. and Lena McCune Hambright; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Angela Hambright; brothers and sister-in-law, Graylan D. Hambright, Ronnie L. and Rhonda Hambright.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Jo Hambright; daughter, Crystal Van Pelt; grandchildren, Aaron Hambright, Jacob Van Pelt, Chase Hambright, and Jessica Douglas; great-grandson, Wyatt Douglas; sister, Denise Duke; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville, NC.
