Pembroke-Mr. David Virgil "Buddy" Strickland, 63 , died Monday, May 7, 2012 in Louisville, GA.
He was born in Statesboro, GA, son of the late Marcus and Mildred Butler Strickland. He graduated from Bryan County High School in 1966 and had worked most of his life as an estimator in the construction industry.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy Strickland Llamas; son, Shawn (Lynn) Strickland; grandchildren, Derek and Dylan Llamas, Jackson and Jessi Lynn Strickland and Dillon Kennedy; brother, Gary (Marolyn) Strickland and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
The visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mr. Strickland's life was at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Jesse France officiating. Pallbearers were Marvin Strickland, Wayne Strickland, Jimmy Cannady, Dean Butler, Herman "Dinky" Butler, Jr. and Glenn Butler. Burial followed at Northside Cemetery in Pembroke.
