Ludowici – David A. Horton, 45, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Memorial Health.

The Effingham County native was employed at Darien Police Department, was formerly at Long County Sheriff's Department, Andress Engineering Associates, and Horton Electric.  David was an avid hunter, loving fox, coon, and deer hunting.

Survivors include his son, Seth Horton (Reagan); daughter, Kaleigh Horton; mother, Deborah Stallings; father, Ray Horton (Laura); brother, Buddy Horton (Martha); grandmother, Claudine Horton; step-sister, Jennifer Johnson (Chris); step-brother, Shawn King (Mary Evelyn); and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Compassion Christian Church Effingham Campus, 810 Fort Howard Road, Rincon, GA 31326.  David will lie in state from 10 a.m.

Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
