Lugoff, SC – Funeral service for David Charles Parker, 75, will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Elgin Congregation Holiness Church in Elgin, S.C.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in Effingham Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Ga.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elgin Congregation Holiness Church.

Mr. Parker passed away at home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.  Born in Savannah, Ga., he was the son of the late Charles Marion Parker and Euclid Ellis Parker.  He was faithful member of Elgin Congregation Holiness Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, making bar-b-que, and in his younger days, playing softball.  He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan.  Mr. Parker loved his family and treasured the time spent with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Diane Cowart Parker; daughter, Heather Lynn Parker; daughter-in-law, Julie Motley Roach; brother, Jay Marion "Ricky" Parker (Sandy); sister, Joye Carol Barnes (Kevin); 5 grandchildren, Jacob Roach, Mason Roach, Ainsley Roach, Eli Roach, and Ethan Roach; and special friends, Hootie Cook, Crystal and Antonio Perez, Cheyenne, Daniela, Ariana, Casandra, and Vanessa Perez.  He was predeceased by a son, Anthony David "Tony" Parker; and step-son, Matthew Roach.
