David Rushing, 61, of Savannah, passed away early Friday morning, December 22, 2017, surrounded by his family in his home. Born August 28, 1956, David was a Utility Supervisor in the construction field, by trade. He was a member of the Silk Hope Savages, an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking out with friends and family, and spending time outdoors. David was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Rushing and Mary Collins, and his aunt and uncle, Molly and Marion Rushing. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Tyson, his brother, Jeff Rushing, his brother, Tommy Rushing, and his wife, Tammy, his son, Robert Rushing, and his wife, Christine, his step-daughters, Jenny Kerns, Crissy Rose, and Brandy Ellis, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 2 nieces, and his long-time girlfriend, Maryann Stapleton. A memorial service will be held January 6, 2017 at Silk Hope Baptist Church. Details to be released at a later date.
