Springfield – David Mark Steigerwalt, 67, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 after a long battle with cancer at Oceanside Care Center on Tybee Island.

He was born in Arkansas, however, lived in Springfield the majority of his life. He was a graduate of ECHS and was a Land Surveyor. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and boating on the river. He was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Betty Steigerwalt.

Survivors include his sisters Karen S. Gifford, Jean S. Hunt (Steven) and Beth Steigerwalt; nieces and nephews Kasey G. Jones (Zachary), Cheyenne Hunt (Mari) and Carson Hunt; great-nephew and niece Benjamin Jones and Ellie Jones; significant other of many years Mary Lee Webb and his fur buddy "Junior" the cat.

David will be cremated with a private family memorial service to follow.
