Bloomingdale-Mrs. Deborah Shelley Bailey, 68, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Deborah was born in Bainbridge to the late Wade E. & Madge Shelley. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale where she had taught Sunday School. She retired from the Savannah Baptist Association. She was a student of the Bible, enjoyed gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family and the tea parties shared with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Darrell E. Bailey; her sons and their wives, Darrell E. Bailey, Jr. and Angela of Savannah, GA, Gary Bailey and Phyllis of Madison, FL, Scott Bailey and Laura of Lake Park, GA and Brian Bailey and Kim of Ocala, FL; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her siblings and their spouses, Sara Thorpe and James of Hosford, FL, Paula Fountain and David of Tallahassee, FL, Betty Willis and Ray of Tallahassee, FL, John Shelley and Holly of Bonham, TX, Jerry Shelley and Joy of Lake Mary, FL, Caron Barton of Marietta, GA, Kenny Shelley and Becky of Ackworth, GA and Lydia Abbott and James of White, GA as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Rothwell Baptist Church.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Rothwell Baptist Church. The church is located at 216 East Rothwell Street in Pooler.
An additional funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church located at 4124 Bassett Dairy Road in Monticello, FL with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.
