Bloomingdale – Deborah Lane Smoak, 72, passed away July 21, 2023 at her son's home.

The Chatham County native was a retired Paralegal whom loved her work on real estate closings.  She loved music having sang in bands, enjoyed watching her son play baseball, and worked many years at the Lakeside Community Ballpark.  Her favorite thing was being a MeMaw to her grandson, Garrison.

She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Kitty and Robert Lipe; father and step-mother, Robert and Peggy Lane; her grandmother, Gladys Thompkins; brother, Jeffrey Lane; sister and brother-in-law, Johnna and Jody Seifert.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Smoak; grandson, Garrison Smoak; step-granddaughters, Kendall Baker (Cal) and Karlye Claxton; great-granddaughter, Copely Baker; brother, Michael Lane (Marcy); and Peter Schandolph whom was like her son.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2023 in the funeral home chapel with visitation beginning at 12 noon.
