Midway-Debra McElveen Stewart, 55, died January 12, 2011 at Candler Hospital in Savannah. Born in Miami, FL, Debbie grew up in Pooler and resided in Midway, GA for the past several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stewart; her parents, Ruth McBurney McElveen and William C. McElveen; and her eldest sister Sheryl Packer.

She is survived by her three children, Amy Jarkow (Tim Gordon), John Lewis Stembridge III, and Joey (Ashley) Stembridge; former husband, John (Sherry) Stembridge, Jr.; three sisters, Judith Mann, Kathy Symonds and Cristy McElveen; four grandchildren Jacob and Will Jarkow, John Stembridge, IV and Kaleb Stembridge; several nieces and nephews; best friend Pam Morain and beloved pet Bubbles.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
