Garden City-Mr. Deldon Smith passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
Mr. Deldon was born in Claxton to the late Ira N. & Camilla Smith. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Smith and his sister, Lois Kiger. He was a 59 year member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He retired from Union Camp after 42 years of service and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Smith; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jill Smith Regin and Joyce S. Rollins (David); grandchildren, Jeremy S. Rollins (Rena) and Julie R. Salter (Roman); great-granddaughters, Reagan & Reese Salter and a great-grandson on the way; sister, Iris S. Schroeder (Don) and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside funeral and burial: 2 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens located at 315 Greenwich Road in Savannah.
