Obituary

Garden City-Mr. Delmas "Hoppy" L. Sims, 70, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Sims was born in Ellabell to the late Lonnie E. Sims, Jr. & Mary Louise Cribbs Sims. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City. He was a retiree and served his country in the 82nd Airborne Division. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing and corvettes. He loved his family dearly and made sure that he witnessed to them about the love that God had for each of them.
Survivors include his beloved wife, E. Diane Sims of Garden City; daughters, Kimberly Sims Sass & Ron of Rincon, Teresa Sims Warren & Jeff of Richmond Hill; sons, Michael Keith Woods & Joy of Guyton and Anthony Scot Woods of Rincon; eight grandchildren; sister, Reitha Jackson & Paul of Virginia; brother, Lonnie "Sonny" Carlton Sims & Charlotte of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Garden City located at 35 Nelson Avenue. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
