Denise Meeler Lorenz
Guyton – Denise Lorenz, 53, passed away June 24, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was raised in Treutlen County, but made Effingham County her home. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother that loved going on cruises, visiting the lake, and riding on their boat. She loved cheering on the Florida Gators and especially loved sharing her life and home with others in her backyard oasis. She dedicated her career to Gulfstream Aerospace, where she worked for 28 years. She also loved working part-time at Sapp's Wrecker Service, where she met many lifelong friends and the love of her life Marvin.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alvin Meeler; and sister, Patricia Meeler.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin R. Lorenz; daughter and son-in-law, Maci L. Lorenz Robinson and Taylor Robinson; mother and step father, Helen and Bill Simmons.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Strickland's funeral home in Effingham (Sprincon).
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Garden City First Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at the Rincon Cemetery.
