Diane C. Pahls

Rincon- Diane C. Pahls, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 15, 2018 after a valiant fight with her illnesses.

The Grand Rapids, Minnesota native was an Itasca High School graduate and received Nursing Vocational Training in Panama City, FL. She served as an excellent military spouse through 13 assignments, having retired in Yorktown, VA before moving to Rincon in June 2006. Diane was a kind and loving mother, who loved visiting her grandchildren, playing her piano, working in her flower garden, and enjoyed playing golf.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ione Nelson; and her brothers, John & Timothy Nelson. Diane received excellent service from her caregiver, Maria Metroz.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, George "Doc" Pahls, Col. USAF, Ret.; children, Tammy Hawkins of Duncan, OK, Thomas Hawkins of Marlow, OK, Michelle Long of Huntington, WV, Theresa Macioce of Verona, PA, Daniel Pahls of Honesdale, PA, and Tamra Adam of Hamburg, PA; a brother, Warren Nelson of Woodbury, MN; a sister, Judith Levine of Honey Brook, PA; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 11 am – 12 noon, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 12 noon, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment: Effingham Memorial Gardens
