Dianne Humphrey Strickland, known as "Ganny," who was called home to Heaven on October 30,2026, at the age of 78.
Dianne was a devoted wife, loving mother, a cherished grandmother, a sister, and a friend to so many. She shared 59 beautiful and loving years of marriage with her devoted husband, Flanders David Strickland. Together, they built a life filled with love, faith, family, and countless precious memories.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Flanders David Strickland; her children, Debra Strickland and Philip Strickland; and her beloved grandchildren, Kaisha Strickland, Kristopher Strickland, Christopher Singleton, Regan Strickland, Keiannas Singleton, and Amelia Strickland. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Eloise Sisson and Shirley Champion, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
Dianne was truly one of a kind. She was the heart of her family, a woman whose love, strength, and kindness touched everyone around her. As a wife, she was devoted, faithful, and loving, standing beside her husband through life's many joys and challenges for nearly six decades. As a mother, she loved unconditionally, gave selflessly, and always placed her family's needs above her own. But one of her most treasured roles was being "Ganny." Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and the love she poured into each of them was immeasurable. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. Her home was a place of warmth, her arms were a place of comfort, and her love was gift that will remain with her family forever.
Dianne was also known for her incredible work ethic, dedication, and commitment to others. She was a devoted Walmart employee for over 25 years, where she demonstrated loyalty, hard work, and a strong sense of responsibility. Throughout her many years of service, she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of countless coworkers and customers. Her dedication was a reflection of the hardworking, dependable, and caring woman she was. She took pride in her work and left behind a legacy of kindness and commitment that will not be forgotten.
Ganny was the true definition of strength, courage, and perseverance. She courageously beat cancer not once, but twice, proving time and time again just how strong of a woman she was. Through every battle, every difficult day, and every challenged she faced, she continued to fight with remarkable determination. She fought until she simply could not fight anymore, and the Good Lord called His precious child home. Although our hearts ache knowing she is no longer here with us, we find peace and comfort in knowing that her pain is gone, her suffering has ended, and she has received her ultimate healing in Heaven. She is finally resting peacefully in the loving arms of Jesus.
While our family will never be the same without her, the beautiful memories she leaves behind will be forever treasured. We will miss her smile, her voice, her hugs, her unconditional love, and all the little things that made her so special. Her love will continue to live on through her husband, children, and grandchildren, and every life she touched. She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts.
We kindly ask that you continue to keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this incredibly difficult time. The outpouring of love, kindness, and prayers has meant more to our family that words could ever express.
For those wishing to send flowers, arrangements may be delivered directly to the family home.
Rest peacefully, our sweet Ganny. You fought the good fight, you finished the race, and now you have earned your heavenly rest. We love you more than words could ever express, and we will carry you in our hearts until the day we meet again.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
