MSGT. Donald L. Bennett, 86, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

He was born in Screven, Georgia and spent his childhood years in Savannah, Georgia.  He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in March of 1956 and retired in January of 1977.  He also retired from CSX Railroad and was a long-time accountant for Coastal Heritage Society – Railroad Roundhouse History Museum at Fort Jackson.  MSGT Bennett is survived by his wife, Glenda Enfinger Bennett; sister, Janice Helmey (Jimmy); brothers, Charles Bennett and Mikell Bennett (Karen).  He was preceded in death by his parents, William R. Bennett and Hazel Jones Bennett; siblings, Thelma Lee Bennett, Ruth Fields and Betty Smith.

MSGT Bennett's wishes were to be cremated with a private service.
