Pooler-Mr. Donald H. "Donny" Brown, Sr., 58, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at his home.
Donny was born in Savannah to the late Cecil & Geneva Brown. He was a member of Rothwell Baptist Church, the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge # 116, Laurelview Hunting Club, and the Hanging Rock Plantation. He retired after 30 years of service from International Paper, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a "Jack of all trades".
Survivors include his wife, Melissa "Penny" Brown; children, Donald Brown II, and Magen Brown, all of Pooler; brothers, G.M. (Betty) Daniels of Baxley, Bobby Brown of Pooler, and Ricky (Ann) Brown of Walterboro, SC; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane (Glenn) Allen of Pooler; aunt, Betty Williams of Tallahassee, FL, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The visitation will be on Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
