Donald L. Mathis, Jr. "Don", 56, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

Don was born in Savannah and was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Mathis, Sr.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing with his granddaughter, Stella and using his knowledge and experience to help others.

Survivors include his wife, Christy D. Mathis; two daughters and a son-in-law, Katherine Mathis, Stephanie Mathis and Brandon Bradley; granddaughter, Stella Bradley; mother, Patricia Mathis; sister, Deborah Mathis; brother, Patrick Mathis (April Thurheimer, girlfriend); niece, Lauren DiFiore; aunt, Betty (Jack) Long; cousins, Ken (Sherri) Long, Kevin (Buffy) Long, family; Marissa and Kathryn Long, Tiffany and Brooklyn Burns.

The visitation will be on Friday, January 15 ^th from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler.  The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.  All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place including the wearing of masks (Chatham County Mandate).
