Pooler-Mrs. Doris Heidt Wallace, 90, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Bryan County Health & Rehabilitation Facility.
Mrs. Doris was born in Marlow to the late Jacob Ray Heidt & Willie Lee Cochran Heidt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William L. "Billy" Wallace, sisters, Maggie Mooney, Birdie Strickland, Odell Wise and Sonia Seibert, and brother, Ewell Heidt. She was a dedicated member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Pooler where she attended the Seekers Sunday School Class.
Survivors include three children and their spouses, Jackie & Jake Mullins, Dr. Eugene Wallace & Donna, and Drs. Richard & Andrea Wallace; grandchildren, Robin Mullins, Wesley Mullins, CW3 Michael Kicklighter, Ashley Bell, Liz Wallace and Will Wallace; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Purnell, Tony Sapp, Jake Mullins, Ethan Kicklighter, Lilly Kicklighter and Caleb Bell; great-great-grandchildren, Boston, Hunter and Hudson Purnell; sisters, Minnie Butler, Mary Harden, Lida Peth, Amelia Dominy and Maree Patrick; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie & Melinda Heidt; a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home.
The funeral to celebrate Mrs. Wallace's life was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church. The Rev. Randy Nease officiated and Dr. Eugene Wallace gave a eulogy. Music was provided by Mrs. Linda Waters and Mr. Keith Martin. Pallbearers were Wesley Mullins, Jake Mullins, Will Wallace, Marvin Strickland, Kent Strickland and Lee Strickland. Burial followed at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
