Mrs. Doris Elizabeth Walters, of Rincon, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
She was born in Decatur, GA to the late Ernest & Pauline Wier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Walters, and a granddaughter, Robin Logue Hicks. Before her health declined she attended First Baptist Church of Rincon. She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and later retired from The Orthopedic Center (Now Optim Orthopedics). After her retirement, she volunteered at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force.
Survivors include her children, Ron (Velma) Walters of Wilmington Island, Michael (Christine) Walters of Statesboro, Barbara (Tommy) Flanigan of Claxton, Karen Logue of Guyton and Diane Thomas of Rincon; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Doris was a true Southern Belle, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all.
Visitation: 4-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The graveside funeral and burial will be at 12 noon on Monday at Beaufort National Cemetery located at 1601 Boundary Street in Beaufort, SC.
