Port Wentworth-Mrs. Dorothy Arledge Barras, 78, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Hospice Savannah.
Mrs. Dorothy was born in Millen to the late Thomas John Arledge and Ethel Mae Godbee Arledge. She was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Burns. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Ethel Jean "Jeanie" Burns of Port Wentworth and Susannah & Monte Dixon of Pooler; granddaughters, Chasity Burns Brabham (Jonah), Shannan Deleah Burns (George Griffin), Jayme Dixon Click (Justin) and Becca Waynette Burns; great-grandchildren, Hailey Brabham, Kodah Rericha, Reagan Cantrell, Kaden Griffin and Mason Click; sisters, Rose Marie "Susie" Davis and Linda Arledge Batchelor (John).
The visitation was on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mrs. Dorothy's life was on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Bishop Eddie Tomberlin officiating. Pallbearers were David Ehsanipoor, Doug Saxon, Ethan Davis, Henry Hall, Benji Wilson and Tripp Davis. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that remembrances be sent to help offset funeral costs.
