Dublin-Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Beasley Eck, 76, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Hospice Savannah.
Mrs. Dot was born in Pooler to the late C.G. & Ada Beasley. She grew up in the Savannah area and had lived in Dublin since 1978. She was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, Sunday School Superintendant, and leader of multiple Bible studies. She loved being with her family first, including being a wife, mother and grandmother. She opened her home for 8 years to 15 foster children. She also enjoyed cooking, going to the beach, and helping others.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas "Tom" H. Eck; her children and their spouses, Eric & Sherry Eck, Hunter Eck, Laura & Scott Weatherford, and Kyle Eck; grandchildren, Kevin, Andrew and Jonathan Eck; great-grandson, Thomas Eck; sister and brother-in-law, Debra & Roy Ely and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 West Highway 80 in Pooler.
The funeral to celebrate Dot's life will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wes Moye and Dr. Joel Dent officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
The family requests that those attending the visitation and/or funeral to wear bright colors to match Dot's colorful personality. She is remembered as fun and full of life.
