Pooler-Mrs. Dorothy Elizabeth Fortner, 88, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. Dorothy was born in Birmingham, AL to the late Charles Thomas & Sally Lois Brooks Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Winston Fortner and her son, Kelly E. Fortner. She was employed at R.C. Motor Lines for 22 years and was a Baptist. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and drinking water. She was a homemaker, a wonderful mother and mother-in-law.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda & Franklin Ray of Stilson, Deborah Coleman of Pooler and Barbara Ann & Eddie Franklin of Pooler; grandchildren, Becky, Anita, Kelly, Robbie and Melissa; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Carolyn Price of Morrow, Emily & Merv Theissen of Griffin; brothers, Charles & Barbara Kelly of Suwanee, Jerry & Elaine Kelly of Jackson and Phillip & Gail Kelly and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
