Mrs. Dorothy Hinson Taylor, 93, of Port Wentworth, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Abercorn Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Dorothy was born in Twin City to the late Charles K. & Clara Jeffers Hinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Taylor; brother, Charlie K. Hinson; brother-in-law, Clifford Johnson; nephew, Clifford Johnson, Jr., and a niece, Tiffany Johnson Smith. She retired from Levy's Department Store where she worked in the cosmetics department. She was active in the Alee Shriners Ladies Auxillary.
Survivors include her sister, Frances H. Johnson of Statesboro; sister-in-law, Pearl Riggs of Statesboro; nieces and nephews, Tony & Jo Ella Hinson, Don & Miriam Love, Vicky & Kenny Click, Kirk & Patti Johnson, Sandra Johnson, Brenda J. Clemmons, Tom Fields, and James Freeman; cousin, Annie Lou Jeffers Brown, and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be on Friday at 12 noon in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. The graveside funeral and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Marvin United Methodist Church located at 1783 Ernest Webber Road in Lyons, GA.
