Bloomingdale-Mrs. Dorothy Luree Thompson, 89, passed away on Sunday, August 2,
2009 at Hospice Savannah.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Screven County to the late Robert Lee & Floyd Bazemore
Barnwell and had lived in Bloomingdale over 50 years. She was a member of Trinity
United Methodist Church in Pooler. She was also preceded in death by her husband,
Claudine Thompson and two sons, Lavon and Eddie Thompson. She was a loving and
caring mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Neal & Amelia Thompson of Port Wentworth, Stephen
(Mack) & Joyce Thompson of Guyton, Martha & Orbie Davis of Portal, Bobby & Linda
Thompson of Bloomingdale, Larry & Marty Thompson of Bloomingdale, Terry &
Theresa Thompson of Guyton, Diane & James Joyner of Sylvania, Judy Brant of
Bloomingdale and Tasha & Roger Evans of Sylvania; 35 grandchildren, 65
great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, M. Larry Barnwell of
Savannah and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
McBride United Methodist Church Cemetery in Screven County.
