Pooler-Mr. Douglas Edward Hinely, Sr., 76, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Piedmont Healthcare.

Douglas was born in Guyton to the late James Edward & Alma Elizabeth Cowart Hinely. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and the Georgia Air National Guard, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newnan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his granddaughters.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Edward "Ed" Hinely, Jr. & Kelly; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Reagan Hinely; son, Christopher Hinely; sister and brother-in-law, JaNell Hedgepath & Milton, and nephew, Taylor Hedgepath.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
