Dunz-My June Nguyen, 45, of San Clemente, CA, and formerly of Effingham County, passed away Wednesday, Sept 15, 2021, surrounded by her devoted family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

June was born in Tallahassee, FL; after a short time in Miami, her parents received a job opportunity with Gulfstream and moved to Savannah, GA. Savannah (Effingham)was her home till the late nineties until she moved to California and became a "True California girl." After graduating from Effingham High-school, June then attended the University of Georgia and finished her degree at UC San Marcos, earning a degree in Business/Marketing.

Survivors include her parents, Duc Minh Nguyen and Chanh To Nguyen; brothers Phuong K. Nguyen (former spouse Pamela C. Nguyen) Phue D. Nguyen, Phong D. Nguyen (Jihee) and Phu D. Nguyen (Melissa); nieces and nephews, Kenzie K. Nguyen, Camden C. Nguyen, Madeline Nguyen, Xavier Nguyen-Spain, Kyan Nguyen, Ally Nguyen, Myles Nguyen, and Mia Nguyen.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her Aunt Nguyen Thi Nuoc Xuan and Family, Uncle To and Lien Ho, Cousins Eric To and family, Joan Thanh and Walter Jefferson, Yen To and family, Richard To and Family, Matt To and family, and Trong Nguyen and family.

To say June loved life is an understatement! June lived on her terms and was fiercely passionate about her family and faith, loved to travel, a foodie by genetics; June enjoyed trying all types of food, but eating seafood (particularly crab legs and oysters) was by far her favorite food. A loyal, generous friend, and outgoing person, it's no surprise June made lifelong friends wherever she went. To meet June once, you had a friend for life.
