Brooklet- Earl Bacon, Jr., 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 5, 2024.

He was the son of the late Earl Bacon, Sr. and Iris Buckner Bacon. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Colleen Ubele Bacon; and his sister, Carolyn DeAngelis Compton.

Earl had been employed by Savannah Electric and Power Company and was owner of both Custom Specialties Garage Door Company and Statesboro Marine. He also served in the Air National Guard and was a member of the Alee Shrine. He was an avid round dancer and enjoyed many years living in Florida.

Earl is survived by his son, Earl Bacon, III (Debbie); his daughters, Lynne Baublitz (Lyle) and Sandy Helmly (Greg); grandchildren, Amy Sherrod (Lee), Allison Smith (Lee), Stephen Burgstiner (Summer), Brian Helmly (Katie), Ashley Conaway (Zach); and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service: 11 am Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family wants to give a special thank you to Earl's caregivers, Kim, Sarah & Vickie, as well as, Ogeechee Area Hospice for their kindness and caring for Earl during his final days.
