Ellabell-Mr. Earl J. Way, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 24,
2010 at his home in Ellabell.
Earl was born in Metter, GA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served his
country during the Korean Conflict. His family and grandchildren were his life. Earl was
best known for his mom and pop service station, Way's Amoco in Savannah, where the
customers he served soon became his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Ola E. Way of Ellabell; three sons, Fred L. Ramsey of
Ellabell, Douglas A. Ramsey of Richmond Hill, and Earl J. Way, Jr. of Faulkville; two
daughters, Judith A. Mock of Ellabell and Angela D. Walls of Rincon; ten grandsons, five
granddaughters, and twenty-six great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Saturday and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
