Obituary

Mr. Ed Trausneck, 81, of Pooler, Georgia and a long-time resident of Georgia and Florida, passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his home.  Ed will be missed by his loving family, including two sons, Sam Trausneck and William Trausneck; former spouse, Babs Kincaid.  Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Jackson Trausneck, Sr. and Minnie-Rae Faust Trausneck; brother, Sam Trausneck; sister, Dorothy Bedford.  First and foremost, Ed loved the Lord. He was a man of many fascinating God-given talents born in Alexandra, Louisiana.  His fearless personality helped him do well in sports, particularly with fencing and football throughout high school and college. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Journalism, and later from Devry University with a degree in Computer Science.  Ed served his country in the United States Air Force.  He was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. He also enjoyed outdoor activities as a farmer, surfer, swimmer, bee-keeper, and gardener. He loved to travel, especially to state parks. His adventures knew no bounds. He was a survivor of the Earthquake Lake disaster near Yellowstone National Park on August 17, 1959.  He always found ways to work with things he was passionate about, working for NASA during the launch of Apollo 11, and later with AT&T during the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.  His professional career included companies like Sales Technologies, Inc., IBM, and GA Pacific. In his later years he rekindled his passion of writing, taking hundreds of his outdoor (and indoor) adventures and putting them into words sharing his stories of traveling abroad. When words couldn't capture his emotions, he would draw or paint his experiences. He loved to capture the people and places with whom he made special connections with.  Wherever Ed went, he made a difference. One of the deepest passions of his heart was the gift of service to those less fortunate. While in Atlanta, he served honorably as a volunteer at the Men's Union Mission for 35 years sharing love and most importantly his faith. His commitment to service, country, God, and family are just some of the many ways he will be remembered by his friends and family.  Matthew 5:16  "Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."  Thomas C.
