Mr. Edgar Farr Waller
Garden City-Mr. Edgar Farr Waller, 84, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at St.
Jospeh's Hospital.
Mr. Waller was born in Chatham County to the late Horace Bartow Waller, Sr. and May
Belle Shearouse Waller. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City
where he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was the former
owner/operator of Southeastern Air Conditioning Company, was an avid fisherman and
had served on the Garden City Board of Appeals. Mr. Waller served his country in the
U.S. Army (630 Tank Destroyer Batallion) and was a P.O.W. He was a 50 year member
of the Richard T. Turner Masonic Lodge where he was a former Worshipful Master and
former secretary. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Waller.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Adelaide Farr Waller of Garden City; two sons
and a daughter-in-law, Stephen Farr Waller of Gracewood and Mark & Becky Waller of
Savannah; brother, H.B. "Pete" Waller, Jr. of Bloomingdale; sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law, Catherine Calhoun, Welcome G. Farr and Ann & Warren Oglesby, all of
Garden City and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
