Obituary

Mrs. Edith Virginia Beasley, 93, of Port Wentworth, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.
Mrs. Edith was born in Bryan County to the late William Canty & Hettie Bell Cook. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burl Ellis Beasley; two brothers, Robert Lee Cook and Marvin E. Cook, and a sister, Geneva Mae Cook. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Frank F. Baker Lodge #46 F&AM, enjoyed fishing, and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her children, Billy Beasley, Linda Beasley Hughes, and Faye Beasley Johns; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 8th at the funeral home.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 9th in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Travis Cowart officiating. Burial will follow at Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
