Mrs. Edith Jarriel, 82, of Meldrim, GA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late R.P. & Christine Kennedy Pitman.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Valarie Susan Jarriel, and her brother, Jack Pitman.  She was a member of the Meldrim United Methodist Church, was a homemaker, and a member of the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting hats for cancer patients and reading.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bernie Jarriel; children, Kay Riley (Richard), Bernie Jarriel, Jr. (Tammy), and Kristina Scott (Chris), as well as a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The graveside funeral and burial will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Oak Hill Cemetery located at the end of Oconee Avenue in Meldrim.  The service will be livestreamed on the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home Facebook page.  The family respectfully request that attendees wear a mask.
