Mrs. Edna Dollie Dixon, 97, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Dollie will be missed by her children, Wanda Rollf, Elaine Nichol (Ken), and Craig Dixon (Kathi); grandchildren, Matthew Rollf, Lonnie Tyre, Michael Prewitt (Tara), Justin Prewitt (Tiffany), Lindsay Rahn (Austin), Kaitlyn DellaValle (Michael), Kimberly Johnson (Brad), Hollie Hart (Jeff), Kelvin Allan Dixon, and Laurie Carter (David); 25 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Dollie was born in Telfair County and was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Kelly W. Dixon; parents, Henry Grady Allen and Mary Elizabeth Allen; son, Kelvin A. Dixon, Sr.; five sisters and two brothers. She was a strong Christian lady and a long-time member of the Port Wentworth Alliance Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and for many years she led a Good News Club at her home for reaching neighborhood kids. She was a devoted nurse, retiring from Candler Hospital. Dollie was a faithful neighbor, and a caregiver to neighbors and family. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing, was a great cook and talented hand quilter.
The visitation will be on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at Bloomingdale Community Church located at 501 West Highway 80. The funeral to honor Dollie’s life will follow at 1 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
