Edra Zipperer Pierce

Guyton – Edra Zipperer Pierce, 85, passed away November 7, 2018 at Candler Hospital.

Edra was the daughter of the late Julius C. and Bessie Nease Zipperer, she was also preceded by her husband of 64 years, Bernard C. Pierce, Jr.; sister, Eunice Z. Ambrose; and brother Howard N. Zipperer.

She was born in Effingham County where she lived most of her life. A lifelong member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she served as pianist for many years.    She retired from 1 ^st Union Bank (formerly GA Federal Bank).  She enjoyed being with family and friends, and was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her 3 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Duane Pierce, Gary (Teresa) Pierce, and Kevin Pierce; 2 granddaughters, Kristen and Sarah Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda United Methodist Church. Mrs.  Pierce will lie in state from 10 a.m.
