Pooler - Mr. Edward Alexander "Alex" Calderon Mota, age 33, of Pooler, passed away May 29, 2019. Alex was a real "foodie" -- especially Barbecueing, a lover of the outdoors, an avid Lakers fan, and loved music of all kinds. He was a great son, exceptional brother, caring father and a joyful person. He is survived by his son, Edward Calderon Abreu; daughter, Micaelah Calderon Abreu; their mother, Mairelys Abreu; his mother, Maritza Mota Melo; father, Felipe Calderon Reyes; brothers, Jilbert Mendez Mota, Felix Calderon; sister, Yamily Mendez Mota; fiancee, Belki Rivera; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 1 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home with the funeral service to begin in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Effingham Memorial Gardens. The family is accepting flowers and also request that those desiring may make donations to nostomachforcancer.org in the name of Alex Calderon Mota.
