Guyton – Mr. Edward Ray Hunt, 84, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at home surrounded by his family and friends.

Eddie was born in Gainesville, Florida to the late Clifford and Bertha Hunt.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lou Hunt; sister, Betty Jo Turk; brothers, Lynwood Hunt and Clifton Hunt.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1963 and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963 – 1967.   He owned and operated his own business, Hunt's Tile Company for many years.  He attended North Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Amanda Nease and Jennifer LeClair (James); son, Jerry Hunt; sisters, Sandra Marriott and Sharon Reynolds; grandchildren, Courtney Ridge (Zack), Ryan Nease (Alyssa), Matthew Nease, Justin Heath, Jason Heath and Cassidy Wood; great-granddaughters, Lyla Beth Heath, Wren Nease, and Autumn Heath; as well as several nieces and nephews; and his dogs, Chloe and Brownie.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at North Salem Baptist Church followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Harrison officiating.  Pallbearers will be Ryan Nease, Matthew Nease, Jason Heath, Connor Rickman, Liam Rickman, and Isaac Mass.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
