Edwin A. Burbage

Rincon- Edwin A. Burbage, 87, died June 27, 2011 at the Effingham Hospital.

The Charleston, SC native was retired from Wilmer Hall Episcopal Children's Home in Mobile, AL, having served there full time from 1950 – 1986 and for six more years part time. He was a former member of the Church of the Holy Communion in Charleston, SC, a former member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Mobile, AL, and a charter member and oldest member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Rincon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Ena Burbage; twin brother, Stephen Burbage, Jr.; brother, Bertram "Buddy" Burbage; and sister, Ena Burbage.

Survivors include his sister, Carolyn B. Morgan of Clyo; nephews, Porter Morgan (Nancy) of Rincon, Jay Morgan of Richmond Hill, Craig Morgan of Birmingham, AL; niece, Elaine Morgan of Beaufort, SC; great-nephews, Thomas Morgan of Ft. Bliss, TX and Richard Morgan of Rincon; and several cousins.

Visitation: 6:30 – 7:30 pm Thursday, June 30, 2011 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Rincon.

Graveside Service: 2 pm Friday, July 1, 2011 at Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston, SC.
