Eileen E. Floyd, 77, of Pooler, Georgia passed away peacefully on January 16, 2019 at Hospice Savannah.
Eileen was born on March 3, 1941 in Nyack, NY to John and Kathleen Ehmann. She lived in New York and Connecticut before moving to Savannah in 1955 and attending St. Vincent's Academy. She remained in Savannah where she began her career at American Cyanamid and retired from Georgia Power (formerly Savannah Electric and Power Company) as an Executive Assistant after 34 years of service. In retirement she worked for the Catholic Diocese of Savannah, was a volunteer at Oatland Island Wildlife Center, and was a founding member of and helped establish Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Pooler.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Kathleen and her daughter Lisa Floyd. She is survived by her son, Christopher Floyd (Heather Merbs) of Savannah, GA, her daughter Allison Floyd (Ellen Soloway) of Decatur, GA, grandchildren Kyle Leonhardt, Ansley Leonhardt and Seth Leonhardt, and her brother John Ehmann (Anne).
Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 501 South Coastal Hwy, Port Wentworth with Fr. Tom Murphy and Fr. Joseph Smith celebrating.
