Eleanor Mixson Helmly
Rincon- Eleanor Mixson Helmly, 85, died February 18, 2016 at Candler Hospital.
The South Carolina native was born November 5, 1930 to the late Gilbert & Josephine Mixson. She was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church before moving her membership to Bible Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her family, fishing, square dancing, and travelling. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Helmly, Sr.; brother, Gilbert Irvin Mixson; sister, Alice Marilyn Bennett; and her granddaughter, Gina L. Ambrose.
She is survived by her children, Dale Casto (Dennis), Ceil H. Fitzpatrick (Jack), James Allen "Buddy" Helmly, Jr. (Linda), Celeste Grovenstein, Dana W. Helmly, Sr., and Timra Helmly; sisters-in-law, Joyce Mixson and Frances Thomas; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 3-4 pm Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 4 pm Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Jerusalem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
