Obituary

Mr. Elijah Dwain Edwards, 83, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Hospice Savannah.

Dwain was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Ernest Edwards and Dicie Tillman Edwards.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lou Sills Edwards, brothers, Olvid "Bo" Edwards and Reggie Edwards, as well as a sister, Marlene Buffkin.  He graduated from the last graduating class at Commercial High School in 1959. He formerly owned and operated E & H Construction Company.  He was a Shriner/York Rite and enjoyed fishing.  He loved playing golf with his buddies at Mary Calder and the annual golf trips that they took to Myrtle Beach and Santee Cooper.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Evan and Emma; "his youngens"!

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and John Williams; son, Reggie Edwards; grandson, Evan Williams; granddaughter, Emma Williams; sister, Joann Eason; sister-in-law, Judy Edwards, and a number of nieces and nephews.

The memorial service to honor Dwain's life will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in the chapel of the funeral home.
